How to get to Tortola:
There are two ways to get to the British Virgin Islands. The first is to fly directly to Beef Island Airport on Tortola (airport code: EIS). The second is to fly to Cyril E. King airport in St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands (airport code: STT) and then take the ferry to Tortola, BVI. Keep in mind that visas might be required according to your citizenship.
Three reasons to join us in BVI – Mid Winter Sailing
The British Virgin Islands welcome you to explore ‘Nature’s little Secrets’, where the beaches are hot and people are warm. We’ll be sailing among the biggest islands in the area, from Tortola to Anegada and Virgin Gorda.
You’ll have the chance to sunbathe on some of the most beautiful beaches ever, swim in clear blue waters at Sandy Spit, wander around the savage island of Anegada or enjoy dinner at Saba Rock.
Route highlights
• Tortola is our departure point. The island offers many attractions and one that we’ll not miss is Callwood’s Rum Distillery. After departure from Road Town Tortola we’ll head towards Cane Garden Bay and we’ll be able to visit an original Rum Distillery and taste plenty of shots. This is the oldest continuously operated distillery in the Eastern Caribbean.
• Jost Van Dyke is where we’ll find the famous Foxy’s bar. It is well known for its’ New Year’s parties but we know for a fact that party is the word at Foxy’s all week long. So, get ready to dance all night, mix and mingle and stay up to enjoy the sunrise. Besides the Great Harbour which is known for its yacht-filled parties, we will enjoy tasty food such as barbecues, West Indian rotis or flying fish sandwiches.
• Anegada is highly different from the other islands in the area as it is formed by coral and limestone, not volcanic activity. Long sandy beaches and sky blue waters are typical for Anegada. Getting close to the island is quite tricky as it has the third largest reef in the Caribbean and there is only one mooring field and anchorage. Anegada will welcome us for dinner on the beach at ‘Whistling Pine Restaurant’, with great lobster.
